GEG Foundation Supports “Letras & Companhia” Literacy & Cultural Festival

Through the GEG Cultural & Academic Fund, the Foundation is honored to support the “Letras & Companhia”, or “Alphabets and Friends”, the literacy and cultural festival for parents and children, organized by IPOR, for the second consecutive year, aiming to encourage Portuguese language learning, and to promote the importance of reading, education and civic responsibility.
The theme of this year’s festival is “Sea”, to highlight the importance of ocean conservation. Various activities scheduled to be held over the two weekends in April/May are:
April 23 - IPOR and the Garden of Consulate-General of Portugal in Macau and Hong Kong:
- Mini Library
- Creative Writing Workshop (pre-registration required)
- A Night at… the Library (pre-registration required)
- Recycling
- Little Fishes
- Alphabet Market
May 7 - Orient Foundation:
- Zero Waste Exhibition
- Live music
- Storytelling sessions in Portuguese and Chinese
- Puppet show
- Alphabet Market
- Gastronomic exhibition
- Portuguese traditional games
- Face painting

This year’s festival is organized by IPOR and the Consulate-General of Portugal in Macau and Hong Kong, funded by Galaxy Entertainment Group Foundation, and collaborated with Orient Foundation, Camões – Instituto da Cooperacao e da Língua I.P., Casa of Portugal in Macau, Livraria Portuguesa, Júbilo bookstore, and SÍLABA.
