CHIWEN
This small Chiwen is made of bamboo and wire, unlike larger performance pieces which use bamboo. Traditionally, metal wire may be used for more intricate, smaller designs. However, wire would be too heavy for larger pieces and be easily damaged and bent out-of-shape as a result; bamboo is therefore generally used as it is light, flexible, and has the elasticity required for performance pieces.
