QILIN
This Qilin was designed and commissioned for the Cheung Chau Bun festival. It has led the parades for the Cheung Chau Bun festival and had been danced for three years. The artist Louis To created it 15% larger than a standard Qilin, to make it more powerful. The blemishes on this Qilin are testimonies of its history, as there is a ritual where two Qilins would “fight” during the parade.
