SOUND BODY AND EAGLE DANCE
The original purpose behind the creation of this piece is to allow blind people to use their sense of touch, and hearing, to appreciate the work. Sound Body is a musical instrument, with each strip of bamboo designed to make a different sound. When connected to amplifiers, its sound mimics that of a double bass. The piece is designed as a costume, to be worn as a hat and a dress. When worn in a dance, the dancer’s movements will allow the costume to emit soft, percussion-like sounds to accompany the movements.
